Hello I'm Umaima

A marketer turned yoga teacher (E-RYT 200; RPYT85). Starting my yoga practice in 2014 and teaching journey in 2019,  I have taught across multiple yoga studios, community centres, online, and private settings. My motto is to empower my students to move intuitively while using yoga to help them feel better in their bodies.

 

Unravel with Umaima was inspired from my life experiences urging me to  create a classroom where people of all abilities could practice yoga without inhibition.

Intentional living through felt sense

Yoga returns the body to its natural state. A state where we are strong, mobile, our body systems working optimally, we basically have the power to set ourselves free. Moving with intention allows us to become more aware of all the sensations in our body in the present moment. 

Learning to discern the quality of body sensations is a beautiful gift of a yoga practice. It equips us with power to navigate our own aches and feelings with movement and stillness to support/challenge ourselves better.

Learning self-regulation through felt sense to move towards a lighter, calmer, wholesome and resilient state of being makes us self-reliant in regulating our own happiness without having to over-recruit loved ones or external circumstances to take care of our well-being.

It might not happen at first, but it will. The answer is to keep practicing to learn and listen to our own body
